Heart of Joy

Mz.Janice Eakle

Mz. Janice’s thoughts and feelings are written in spiritual, uplifting, positive poetic verse, with a little romance and erotica for the reader to enjoy. For Mz. Janice, writing has been a great release and a healing for the soul. At the age of twenty-two, the loss of her mother to breast cancer was devastating. Poetry has helped heal and strengthen her soul so she is able to live a positive life filled with faith, joy, love, peace, happiness and wisdom. It is a blessing to heal through the power of art. Mz. Janice’s husband has been a great encouragement and positive influence in her life. Being married as a teen and growing together with her husband as best friends has made her even stronger. He has always said, “You can do anything you set your mind to.” She believes it is a blessing to be a mother, and it is one of the greatest gifts God has given to her.

Till Death Do Us Part could be documentary or fiction.  This is a situation we have imagined, or met, or at least seen passing.  It doesn't take away from the artistic truth of the book; it is a very effectively presented chunk of real life that sings with authenticity in the voice of its participant.

This is a narrative of the joys and tragedies of today and of the always achingly difficult relations between man and woman, but it is not a story of desperation but of overcoming, a theme which could appear hackneyed were it not redeemed by the, finally, sympathetic characters of the writer and of 'Peter', that hold the narrative together.  It is personal drama that succeeds in communication.

Joanna Jones takes the reader into a powerfully real world of the author's devising.  The tone is intimate and conversational, and as I have mentioned above, it has the strong voice of personal authentic experience.

All novels are a little autobiographical, whether they draw on actual or imagined experience, because it is from personal experience and observation that the novelist creates a world of imagination, where, as in this book, the characters move and behave in keeping with the novelist's rules of engagement.  But it is more than that;  this is experience directly transformed into art; it is an art object that, one feels, has come about almost accidently, like something found.

At 639 book pages, Joanna Jones gives herself the space to fully explore and develop her theme, and, finally, to bring us, the reader, with her and 'Peter', to a good and satisfactory closure.
