He spends a lot of time working with his horses and notices that a young boy seems to show up each day and watches from afar. He sneaks up on the young boy one day and realizes that it is Sophie “Jack” Thornton. She lets him know that she is extremely interested in learning how to shoot, fight with swords, fish, and other things men can do. He takes her in as a student and she must keep her disguise on at all times so her reputation as a lady is not sullied.
Dominic enjoys the time he spends with Jack as they explore the facets of his teachings. Her innocence and easy manner is quite captivating as he finds himself becoming used to her presence in his life. But, it is not long before his parents show up and his mother decides to take Jack into their care. Dominic’s mother notices a drastic change in her son when it comes to his involvement with Jack. Can Dominic open his heart to Jack’s love before she succumbs to the charms of another?
